The manufacturing process
From mechanical design to manufacture
A functional requirement or initial design provides direction but does not settle every production decision. Douna discusses the application, interfaces and critical features and considers the development required. Manufacturability and intended operations are included from the outset, so geometry, material and assembly choices can be assessed together.
A clearly defined delivery
We agree which development work is included, which information you provide and when the design is ready for the next stage. Required calculations, safety assessments, testing and documentation are discussed explicitly. The engineering scope can be defined separately or coordinated with production and assembly.
Frequently asked questions
Practical questions
Can I start without a complete design?
Yes, a functional description, sketch or reference can start the discussion. Function, constraints and acceptance criteria must be sufficiently clear before execution. We discuss which missing information is needed first.
Is engineering linked to production?
Technical development can connect to machining, welding and assembly. The stages Douna performs and the design or documentation delivered are agreed for each order.
