A clamped metal workpiece is machined. The tool moves across the workpiece while coolant is supplied. The film plays at three times its original speed and has no sound.

From question to manufacturing route

Your component as the starting point

A suitable manufacturing route starts with four connected questions. They help you define the technical starting points step by step.

  1. Define the workpiece

Start with the geometry, dimensions and function of your component. A drawing or existing workpiece makes the question concrete.

  2. Specify the material

State the material designation and stock form. These provide the starting point for selecting tools and machining operations.

  3. Coordinate the operations

Assess the required machining operations and workholding arrangements and how they fit together.

  4. Define inspection

Match the dimensions to be checked, the measuring method and required documentation to the component’s requirements.
