A combination of 3D scanning, engineering, material selection and mechanical operation enabled safe lifting and rotation in a wet environment.
Matching the container
The position and shape of four support trunnions were not fully available from drawings and had to be captured with a 3D scanner.
Our approach
Tapered lifting points were designed from the scan. Self-locking mechanisms and a plastic worm gear support operation by one person.
Inspection and handover
The historical source describes high safety requirements, positive-fit lifting points and multiple self-locking mechanisms.
Delivered work
A custom lifting and tilting solution allowing a 6.5-tonne container to be rotated up to 80 degrees within the required minute.
