The manufacturing process
Which metalworking processes does your product need?
Metalworking starts with the function of the product. Round features may require turning, faces and contours may need milling, and assemblies may need welding and assembly work. Douna assesses the complete geometry and final condition and coordinates the operations. A supplied forging or casting can also be the starting point for further machining.
A clearly defined delivery
The enquiry establishes the starting material, required operations and delivery requirements. Material grade, quantities, tolerances and documentation are assessed for each component. Any heat or surface treatment and responsibility for it are agreed separately.
Frequently asked questions
Practical questions
Which operation suits my component?
This follows from function, shape, material and required dimensions. Share the complete drawing or model reference so that related operations and setups can be assessed.
Can I supply an existing workpiece?
An existing component, forging or casting can serve as the starting point. Material, condition, machining allowance and usable datums must be clear. We discuss the assessment required before agreeing the operation.
