Continuity and further development were central to the transition to Famon announced in June 2026: building on technical craftsmanship, the machine fleet and longstanding customer relationships.

The transition announced in June 2026

On 9 June 2026, Douna announced that Arno Monincx, through family investment company Famon, had reached agreement with Ale Procee on the acquisition of Machinefabriek Douna in Leeuwarden and Machinefabriek Van der Velde Boerhof in Appelscha.

The transition focused on further development based on technical craftsmanship, the modernised machine fleet and longstanding customer relationships.

Continuity as the starting point

The transition announcement stated that Hendrik Wijnja would move from technical director to managing director. The existing organisation and employees formed the basis for the next phase.
